How long does a group photoshoot take?

A 1-hour group photoshoot is ideal for a relaxed session in one picturesque area. With 2 or 3 hours we can move between different surroundings and create more variety.

Can we keep the photoshoot a surprise for the bride-to-be?

Yes. I only stay in touch with the person who booked, so the bride-to-be needs to know nothing in advance. On the day, the group simply brings her to the meeting point.

Can we bring matching outfits or props?

Of course. Think of a color theme, a veil or sash for the bride-to-be, balloons, or sunglasses. These touches bring your group’s energy into the photos. Just bring what everyone can carry while we walk.

How do you photograph a large group?

I move between the whole group and smaller moments, such as two friends side by side or the bride-to-be alone. For photos with everyone, I look for steps or a bridge, because a little height difference keeps every face visible. You do not need to organize anyone, since I guide each setup.

Do you also photograph bachelor parties and other groups?

The Character of an Artistic Lens

Part of my signature comes from the artistic lens itself: painterly softness, subtle vignetting, swirly bokeh, and, in bright light, occasional gentle glare or halo. These characteristics are part of the photograph rather than effects added later. As a result, they give your group portraits the same distinctive film character from the first frame to the last.

Candid Moments Between the Poses

The best group photos rarely come from everyone saying cheese at once. As your group photographer in Amsterdam, I photograph what happens around the posed frames. A Compact Route for the Whole Group

Moving a group through the city takes time. That is why I plan a compact walking route rather than a tour of distant landmarks. In the Jordaan, for example, bridges, canal house steps, and quieter streets sit a few minutes apart. That keeps the hour for photographing rather than walking. You receive a suggested meeting point and route beforehand, so nobody in the group needs to plan it.

Room for Everyone in the Frame

As a group photographer in Amsterdam, I know that the best-known corners are often the most crowded. A large group needs space. So I plan around the busiest streets and favor places where everyone fits in the frame. A wide bridge, the steps of a canal house, or a quieter stretch of water all work well. That space gives us freedom with composition and movement, while the character of the city stays in every photo.

Bachelorettes, Birthdays, and Reunions

Each group photoshoot begins with the reason you are together. That might be a bachelorette weekend, a milestone birthday, a reunion with old friends, or relatives visiting from abroad. We shape the session around it, so Amsterdam becomes part of the story without taking attention from your group.
