They don’t need to be. I keep the process straightforward and give people something natural to focus on rather than expecting them to perform continuously.

During team and branding photography, people often relax once they are talking, working, or interacting with colleagues, and those in-between moments can become some of the strongest photographs. For individual headshots, I talk you through the process clearly so you never have to work out what to do in front of the camera.

Your website, existing visual identity, and any references you like give me a useful starting point for a branding photoshoot. It also helps to think about the people, activities, products, outfits, props, or locations that are important to how your business is presented.

If the photographs need to work for particular pages, campaigns, social media, press, or presentations, identifying those priorities helps me create useful variety while leaving room for natural moments and details that make your business recognizable.

Product photography can cover complete products and packaging, materials and details, or products being used in context. A clear priority list helps establish what matters most, while having the products clean, complete, and ready to photograph gives us more time to work on composition and variation.

If packaging, props, surfaces, or a particular environment need to appear in the photographs, prepare those beforehand as well. I then work through wider views and the details that define the product.

Have the spaces ready before the session and remove anything you would not want visible in the finished photographs. Clean surfaces, considered styling, open access to the rooms being photographed, and attention to small details can make a noticeable difference.

If the property is occupied or the photography needs to work around staff, guests, tenants, or residents, this is useful to know in advance so I can plan the session efficiently.
