Film Swap — €150

Add an extra hour with a different film type, switching from black and white to color or vice versa. This option includes 10 additional photo downloads and replaces the standard extra-hour option for that hour.

Original Negatives — €50

Keep the original negatives from your photoshoot, the developed film used to make your digital scans. Digital photo downloads are already included in your package.

Extra Photo Downloads

Every photo from your session is available in your gallery. Your one-hour package includes 15 downloads, with 10 more for each additional hour.

If you find more favorites than your package includes, additional photo downloads cost €7 each.

I am an analog photographer in Amsterdam, creating portraits on black-and-white or color film. Come on your own, with your partner, or with your family. We will explore a small part of the city with a vintage film camera, using the light and surroundings to shape your photographs.

You do not need to know how to pose: I will guide you through the session. Choose your film style below; both packages include 15 photo downloads from your scanned film photographs.

COLOR FILM PHOTOSHOOT

A color film photoshoot brings the setting into your portraits: warm brickwork, green reflections, or the shade of a favorite coat. I work with the colors and light around us, so the surroundings become part of the photographs. Choose color when those details matter to your story.

FAQ

Find answers below about choosing film, extending your session, and receiving your photographs. Visit the FAQ page for booking, payment, weather, cancellations, and rescheduling.

Everyone. Book a portrait photoshoot for yourself, a couple photoshoot with your partner, or a family photoshoot, children included. I will offer creative guidance while giving each of you room to be yourself.

Black and white emphasizes light, expression, and texture. Color also preserves the palette of your clothes and surroundings. If you are unsure, browse my gallery and share the photographs that speak to you. I will choose the film to match.

Yes. Select the Film Swap add-on for an extra hour with a different film type. You can start with either film; mention your preference when booking, as I load the camera in advance.

Classic, timeless pieces in solid or muted colors photograph beautifully on film. Busy patterns, large logos, and neon distract from you. For black and white, contrast between light and dark tones matters most.

No. Move, walk, and laugh freely. I take one photograph at a time on film, rather than a burst, so pause briefly when I press the shutter to keep the photograph sharp.

Yes. The lab develops and scans the film after your photoshoot, and you receive the scans in your online gallery, just as with a digital photoshoot.

ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY IN AMSTERDAM

Before I Take the Photograph

Before I press the shutter, I check the light, framing, and focus, then watch for the expression or movement that makes the photograph work. Over a decade of professional photography experience helps me balance those decisions with giving you clear direction. I stay attentive to how you feel in front of the camera, adjusting the session as you become more comfortable.

The Character of Black-and-White and Color Film

Black-and-white film lets me work with tonal differences: the shape of a shadow, a light shirt against a dark background, or the texture of fabric beside skin. Color film brings the palette of the scene into that relationship. Both have their own grain and response to light. We choose the film according to the look you want for your portraits.

A Series With Variety

Within the session, I vary the distance, framing, and setting so your gallery offers more than one kind of portrait. A closer photograph may emphasize expression; a wider one can show how you fit into the place. We can include individual portraits alongside photographs together, depending on who is joining and the time you book.

ANALOG PRINTS

Choose a favorite film portrait for your wall, bring the series together in a lay-flat photobook, or keep a pack of matte prints to hold and share. A print gives you another way to enjoy the detail and character of your photographs.

Every analog photoshoot includes €25 print credit. Order professional prints directly from your gallery, with free express delivery worldwide. Your credit is available while your gallery remains online, so choose your prints before the gallery expires.

YOUR ANALOG PHOTOSHOOT IN AMSTERDAM

A Compact Route Through Amsterdam

As an analog photographer in Amsterdam, I plan a compact route around the light, the setting, and the people joining. The Jordaan, the canal belt, and the parks each offer a different backdrop. For a one-hour session, we stay within one area and use a few nearby spots, leaving time to photograph without rushing between locations.

Time for the People Taking Part

An individual portrait, a couple’s walk, and a family photoshoot have different rhythms. On your own, we can explore small changes in expression and posture. As a couple, you have each other to respond to. With children, movement and familiar interactions can help everyone settle in. Tell me what brings you to the session so I can guide it around you.

What to Wear for Film Portraits

Wear something you feel comfortable moving in. For black and white, differences in tone and texture help define the portrait; for color, think about how your clothes work with the setting. One outfit keeps a short session simple. If you want a change of clothes, allow time for it when booking. Comfortable shoes help between nearby spots.

ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE NETHERLANDS

Based in Amsterdam, I also offer analog photoshoots throughout the Netherlands. Explore the locations below for a different setting for your black-and-white or color film portraits. Any applicable travel costs or location surcharges are shown in your booking total before you pay.
