Maja is an Amsterdam-based graphic artist that values creativity and authenticity. She was looking for a professional photographer to capture her uncharted personality in an unordinary way, with artistic vintage photography in Amsterdam. Hence, she booked me for an artistic solo photoshoot that resulted in 24 black and white photos captured on an Ilford FP4 film roll.
I easily agreed to capture Maja using a rare vintage film roll on my analog photo film camera. Vintage film photography has no auto mode and is limited to 24 authentic photographs, making each captured portrait unique and thus more valuable for clients. The photo film is developed in an artisan darkroom and requires professional skills and equipment. However, the pain is worth the gain, and the result you get is truly amazing.
Being an experienced Amsterdam vintage film photographer, I can always recommend the most cinematic places that look great in artistic analog photography. This time our analog solo shoot took place in one of Amsterdam’s quiet spring parks, richly decorated with beautiful blossoms. The tender flowers and the calming pond in the park added a relaxing atmosphere to the resulting photographs.
Using analog black and white photo film means there will be no colors depicted, and the focus will shift to the plot and the essence of a person. I made sure that Maja felt natural in front of the camera during our solo photoshoot on black and white film, allowing me to capture her mood and personality in creative artistic portraits.
This vintage film photoshoot in Amsterdam became an unforgettable creative photography experience for Maja and resulted in cinematic photographs that evoke positive emotions. I was happy to meet such a lovely girl and capture her in artistic vintage photography in Amsterdam with my vintage photo camera.
