Tulip fields in the Netherlands bloom from the beginning of April until mid-May. This period may slightly differ due to weather conditions. The Netherlands is a flower country and, besides tulips, you can find fields of other equally beautiful flowers, such as crocuses, daffodils, peonies, delphiniums, dahlia, and many others. Magnificent white sakura, pink magnolia, and red camellia trees also bloom in the same period, photoshoots of which you can check in my other photo blogs.

A wonderful family from Yakutsk (Russia) – Vladimir, Maria, and Anna, always dreamed of an unstaged photoshoot in the Dutch tulip fields! The family rented a car to explore different parts of the Netherlands. And, of course, to reach the fields you need a car in the first place! There are several regions in the Netherlands where tulips are grown. Fields are located in-between villages and cities and every year tulips can be found in different locations.

Every visitor has to keep in mind that tulip fields are grown on the private property of farmers who grow the flowers for the sale of their bulbs. In most cases, ditches with water are used as natural hedges, which make fields inaccessible. As of 2019, most fields have posters requesting visitors to respect the flowers and property. You should always ask permission before entering and photographing in the field. As long as you are mindful of the field, the owners respond positively.

Have you always dreamed of your own spontaneous family photoshoot on the blooming tulip fields of Holland? It would be my pleasure to capture your happy family moments in vibrant family portraiture with an unstaged family photo session!
